IEEE Bangalore Section presents CodXpress, the first-ever section-level hackathon, to enhance students' problem-solving skills in various domains.



Engage in hands-on learning while solving complex challenges related to data intelligence.

About CodXpress

CodXpress is aimed at honing students' problem-solving abilities and hands-on learning. During the hackathon process, they will also be mentored by senior professional member of IEEE

Participating students will be able to solve problems in the space of data intelligence in Robotics, Smart Grid, Health Tech, and others. For Example:

  1. Given a Black-Box AI model used in an autonomous navigation system, the goal is to extract an equivalent of the Model functionality with the least number of queries.
  2. Given a Dataset, build an AI model to diagnose a medical condition. Build explanations on the model which can used by the doctor for further investigation.

What do Winners Get?

The winning teams will receive attractive cash prizes totalling up to 2,00,000/- INR.
The selected IEEE Bangalore Section teams will be guided further for IEEE Global Xtreme.

Registration & Submission Process

  1. No fee for the FIRST submission
  2. The team should consist of atleast ONE IEEE MEMBER.
  3. Problem statement and abstract submission in pdf format should be submitted through the Conference Management Tool -CMT portal
  4. Download the submission template from here
  5. Upon selection to the second phase of the hackathon, a nominal registration, non-refundable fee of INR 600/- needs to be paid.
  6. Upon selection to the second phase, Registration needs to be via notified Registration Portal.
  7. Though it is not encouraged, Multiple submissions are allowed in the first phase; i.e. a member can be part of two teams in the first phase.

EVENT PROCESS


  1. Participating teams will be given ID (Admit card)
  2. They will have to report to the designated venue before time (communicated later)
  3. The food, refreshments, sleeping bags/rest places typical of the night-long hackathon would be provided along with the necessary stationary and consumable items at the venue. However, the participant may bring their bedsheet, towel, etc.
  4. Shortlisted teams need to bring their laptops with the required hardware/software.
  5. No travel grant will be provided to participants to join the event.

Selection & Jury Decision

  • The hackathon has a two-phase selection procedure -
    1. First Phase –
      • The technical organizing team will evaluate and shortlist based on novelty, content quality, and other parameters and notify the shortlisted teams via email.
    2. Second Phase -
      • The expert panel would evaluate the teams during the event at the venue to decide about the awards/winners.
  • The Jury decision is final.

Notifications

  • Selected teams will be notified through email.
  • Teams shortlisted will be intimated about the allotted venue and the registration link through mail.
